N2 - Experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis (EAMG), induced by immunization of animals with acetylcholine receptor, has proven to be a valuable model to understand the immunological and molecular aspects of autoimmune myasthenia gravis (MG) pathogenesis. Availability of knockout and transgenic mice has enabled the investigation of the significance of various immunological factors in MG pathogenesis. EAMG model also provides researchers a practical tool to test the efficacy of potential treatment methods for MG and for other autoimmune diseases.
