Abstract
Depression is often overlooked, misdiagnosed, or inadequately treated in older patients. Since depressions secondary to drug use or organic diseases are common in the aged, complete physical and laboratory evaluation is essential. Fortunately, depression can be alleviated if you know the therapeutic options. Selection of the best one should be made carefully in elderly patients.
