Abstract
Full skin thickness burns around the knee often leave the patellar tendon and bone exposed. An example of the late rupture of the quadriceps mechanism following such a burn and subsequent reconstruction is described. Rupture of the quadriceps mechanism as a complication of burn injury has not previously been described.
