Abstract
This chapter discusses the most common changes that occur in the musculoskeletal system after a thermal burn. The changes confined to bone include osteoporosis, osteomyelitis, and fractures. The problems encountered with the pericapsular structures include heterotopic ossification, which is discussed in detail. The changes involving the joints include dislocations/subluxations and septic arthritis. The last two topics discussed include amputations and growth alterations after burns.
