Abstract

Although the most famous lectin is the poison ricin, these proteins have other functions, such as intracellular protein trafficking and cell-cell recognition. Carol Nilsson at Göteborg University (Sweden) focuses on the role of lectins in elucidating protein-carbohydrate interactions.
