Abstract

This article presents the epidemiology, pathogenesis and pathology, clinical manifestations, and diagnosis and treatment of Candida, herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus, Myobacterium tuberculosis, Aspergillus, histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and HIV. Uncommon AIDS-related esophageal infections are also discussed.
