Abstract
At some point in their career, all nursing management staff face the challenge of writing a nursing service philosophy. Although authors have described the intent of a nursing philosophy and the typical subject matter found in the philosophy, nursing management staff is often left wondering what to include to make the philosophy easily understood. The authors describe an organizational framework for a nursing service philosophy, identify the essential components of the philosophy, and explore possible content to include in each part.
