Abstract
The management of symptomatic hemorrhoids should be based upon a careful assessment of the location and size of the hemorrhoids, in conjunction with a clear appreciation of the symptoms associated with hemorrhoids. Management is generally medical for small hemorrhoids, rubber band ligation for larger ones, and surgical hemorrhoidectomy, whether by excision or the new stapler pexy procedure, for the very large ones.
