Abstract
Within the framework of the method of a non-equilibrium operator of the density matrix in the approximation of the weak link of the functional groups of the reaction centre (r.c.) with the surroundings, the authors look at the effect of widening of the vibratory levels on the process of primary charge separation at the r.c. of the bacteria. The rate of electron transfer from the excited dimer of bacteriochlorophyll to the bacteriochlorophyll monomer at the r.c. of the bacterium Rhodopseudomonas viridis is quantitatively estimated. The temperature dependence of the rate of this reaction has been studied.
