Abstract

1. 1. The activities of three enzymes of transsulphuration have been measured in a number of organs from a variety of species by methods which are rate-limited only by the enzymatic activity. 2. 2. Some patterns of distribution of the enzymes are noted and commented on. 3. 3. The results suggest that other factors are involved in the control of the concentration of cystathionine in an organ as well as the activities of the cystathionine-synthesizing and cystathionine-cleaving enzymes.
