Abstract

Common chemical burns are described and the literature on these burns is extensively reviewed. Immediate hydrotherapy is the key to successful management in all types of chemical burns. Failure to appreciate the true extent of the injury and the ongoing destruction can lead to inadequate fluid resuscitation.
