Major burn injury requires a multidisciplinary team, providing critical care, multiple operations and extensive wound management followed by a period of prolonged rehabilitation. Rehabilitation continues in the outpatient setting post discharge and such patients often will require numerous reconstructive procedures. The goal of care is to achieve psychosocial, aesthetic and functional recovery.
