Dr. Gayle Olson Koutrouvelis is in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hiram & Gloria Arnold Endowed Professorship for Teaching Excellence Professor. Dr. Olson Koutrouvelis is also the Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship and specializes in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Her clinical interests include Women's Health Care, Diabetes, Obesity and Education. Dr. Phelps is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her research interests include Diabetes and Obesity.
Dr. Olson Koutrouvelis received her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. She completed her residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, also in Baltimore. She was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2007 and has been listed in Super Doctors® in 2013 among many other honors.
