Research interests

More than 11 years of research experience involving experimental tomographic-pathologic studies of microvascular diseases with emphasis on mechanisms of integrity of endothelial junctions and extracellular matrices, as well as past research experience with cardiovascular diseases. My research focus is to develop post-transcriptional or translational regulation strategies to protect endothelial cells during infection with intracellular pathogens, most notably Rickettsia spp.
