Dr. Anil Kumar obtained his master's degree from the IIT Kanpur, specializing in Chemistry, in 2012. Following this, he studied Analytical Chemistry for the next two years at IIT Delhi with a major project in polymer characterization at Indian Oil Corporation, R&D Centre. Later, he joined SRF Limited as a senior research associate, where he dedicated his efforts to advancing various potent pesticides and API molecules, overseeing their transition from laboratory-scale synthesis to pilot plant and, ultimately, commercial production stages. In 2017, he enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, under the supervision of Prof. K. R. Prabhu, where his primary research interests focused on directing group-assisted inert C-H bond functionalization. In 2022, he relocated to Northeastern University, Boston, United States, to commence postdoctoral studies under the guidance of Professor Lori Ferrins, where he designed new synthetic routes synthesizing novel small molecules for neglected tropical diseases. In 2023, he moved to the University of Texas Medical Branch for his second postdoc under the guidance of Jia Zhou, PhD where he is focused on drug discovery to probe potential therapeutic agents in neuroscience, cancer/inflammation, infectious diseases, and other human conditions.
